Tatler Dining Guide - Hong Kong
2013
DUDDELL’S, CENTRAL
The lounge and outdoor terrace at the Ilse Crawford-designed restaurant welcomed our guests into a Christmas-themed soirée with a live jazz band and a menu of classic Hong Kong snacks: curry fishballs, fried sesame balls, and pomelo and mango sweet soup served in petite teacups. But the pride of this inaugural event had to be the special short film we produced, featuring every restaurant that made it into our Top 20 list and our now-iconic gold coin appearing in various situations; it has been heated in a blisteringly hot Josper grill at St Betty, dunked into freezing ice at Gaddi’s, used as a chopping board for steak tartare at Café Gray Deluxe and fashioned as a wheel for a trolley of petits fours at Tate.
