Lobster Bar

One of the most elegant bars in town is this gem housed in the Island Shangri-La, which has been the breeding ground for many a stellar bartender and the home away from home for a regular roster of international guest mixologists. Located next to the restaurant of the same name, it is a favourite for those who care for classic cocktails but also appeals to those who prefer a bit of excitement and innovation from their libations. The menu is regularly updated and on our visit was divided into categories such as “British Influence” (with Good Afternoon, a gin and Pimm’s based cocktail) and “Chinese Heritage” (a Rice Fashioned comprises Mitchter’s bourbon with toasted rice, brown sugar, pink salt and chocolate bitters. Stick around for the nightly live jazz performances.
