TATLER SAYS
An elegant bonsai-filled space with impeccable lighting, sumptuously subdued for a Chinese venue. The Michelinstarred restaurant from Shanghai serves lipsmackingly sublime versions of toothsome Taizhou cuisine, with quality ingredients sourced from their own farms. Seafood from China’s east coast is the focus, but their formidably refined Peking duck carved tableside is not to be ignored. Crisp, paper-thin skin is presented with individual servings of steamed wrappers and condiments. Polished, personalised service is restrained yet agreeably attentive.
SIGNATURE DISHES
• Peking duck
• Braised sea anemones with sweet potato noodles
• Crispy fried silver ribbon fish
TATLER TIPS
It’s a succinct menu but do ask for specials. The popularity of the Peking duck dictates seatings, so ordering the celebrated dish will require following a set time for reservations.
