My grandmother’s cookbooks
I received these cookbooks after the passing of my grandmother, at an early stage in my career as a chef. The books travelled with me throughout my career in exceptional restaurants and five-star hotels scattered over four continents. They remain extremely important to me as they represent fond memories of her and the fact that she was the chef of my grandparents’ restaurant and hotel. They also remind me of the importance of passing on knowledge. I occasionally take the frail books and read about the classical kitchen; these moments always come with memories of her delicious cooking.
