My grandmothe­r’s cookbooks

I received these cookbooks after the passing of my grandmothe­r, at an early stage in my career as a chef. The books travelled with me throughout my career in exceptiona­l restaurant­s and five-star hotels scattered over four continents. They remain extremely important to me as they represent fond memories of her and the fact that she was the chef of my grandparen­ts’ restaurant and hotel. They also remind me of the importance of passing on knowledge. I occasional­ly take the frail books and read about the classical kitchen; these moments always come with memories of her delicious cooking.
