Mezzo Bombana’s sophisticated dining room has welcomed the city’s gourmands for 11 years and counting. The cuisine on offer is similarly sophisticated: the homemade tagliolini with butter, parmesan and a generous topcoat of truffle shaved tableside by chef Umberto Bombana himself is a revelation, while the Tajima short rib and beef tenderloin in red wine and plum sauce proves its longevity on the menu by showcasing the unrivalled quality of its produce. The wine list is surprisingly affordable for a restaurant of this calibre, and helpfully offers half bottles and magnums.
