For over a halfcentury, Captain's Bar has been the default after-work drinking den for local and international bankers, lawyers, dealmakers and the people who support them. Waiters in jackets and bow tie deliver strong, cold and classic drinks from a concise list of spirits, cocktails and wines by the glass. The martinis are excellent, though many patrons prefer its range of draught beers, served in beautifully chilled silver tankards.

Clubby, red leather armchairs and sofas make it easy to linger, and a small selection of Indian snacks take the edge off hunger pangs.
