The Diplomat is primarily a cocktail lounge, but many come for the food as well, with its wagyu burger and Cubano sandwich attracting loyal fans. Tucked down a hidden alley, the bar is split into two sections. The main front bar has high stools and tables, while a secret VIP room has low banquettes, contemporary art and a cranking sound system. Head barman John Nugent draws on the classics, and references influential political and diplomatic personalities. Mini cocktails are available for those who want to sample a few or drink in moderation, and prices are fair for the quality.
