Decent Indian restaurants are in short supply in Macau, but connoisseurs know that they can head to The Venetian should they hanker for proper cooking from the region. With ultra-high ceilings, patterned tiles and golden light fixtures adding glamour to the décor, Golden Peacock is decidedly contemporary. The menu is an interesting read, as Golden Peacock divides each section into vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Notable signature dishes include the kandari murgh tikka (oven-roasted skewered chicken with pomegranate) or lamb biriyani with spices. Various curries also originate from different regions of India, from the drier curried meats from the North to richly sauced Quilon fish curry and many more. The wine list is simple but the beverage selection also includes various liquors as well as traditional Indian drinks such as masala chai and different varieties of lassi, both of which happen to be good alternatives to desserts. Service is personal and attentive, and the staff are very knowledgeable.
