SAFFRON

-

Nestled on the lobby floor of the Banyan Tree Macau, Saffron is an elegant and sophisticated restaurant serving authentic, regional Thai cuisine. The spacious interior features dark wood contrasted by shades of burnt orange, while soft lighting and instrumental Thai music create a calm and relaxing dining experience. You’ll find a lot more than Phad Thai and pineapple fried rice here, with a menu that showcases regional specialties from around the country—from grilled pork tenderloin in a North-Eastern Thai spicy sauce to a Southern Thai braised beef curry with chestnuts and lotus seeds—and plenty of options for vegetarians. The Kluay Buad Chee (banana fritters with Thai tea ice cream) are a definite crowdpleaser—soft, mashed banana fried to a golden crisp paired with a scoop of homemade Thai milk tea ice cream. For drinks, a variety of wines are available by the glass along with cocktails, smoothies and juices, but the Thai iced milk tea is not to be missed. Service is professional and friendly but not always attentive, as the restaurant caters to large groups of tourists as well as walk-ins.
