Located on the mezzanine level of the Grand Hyatt, Tiffin welcomes guests with an elegant combination of plush chairs and dark wooden tables, panoramic city views and pleasant live music. The ambience is stylish but laidback, making for a solid spot to meet business acquaintances or a big group of friends. The venue offers both afternoon tea and a dinner buffet, and the latter doesn’t disappoint; with stations spanning seafood, succulent meats, European classics such as beef Wellington and pan seared foie gras, salads and artisanal ice creams in esoteric flavours (pork floss or egg yolk anyone?), the selection is varied, well executed and sure to please even the persnicketies of diners. The freshly shucked oysters are a highlight, as is the cured salmon—generally, any offering from the sea is consistently premium, and that includes the lobster each diner gets as part of the buffet set. A good selection of wines, including some of the world’s greatest vintages from the hotel’s master wine list adds to the overall high quality experience.
