Inhabiting a prime spot with unhindered views of the skyline in Harbour City’s newest extension, Paper Moon is a stunner with its double-height windows and otherwise understated, Italian-inflected furnishings—although an abundance of hard surfaces means the noise level can become an annoyance at full capacity. The menu is a collection of Italian classics done well—the thin-crust pizzas are satisfyingly indulgent and the seafood dishes are a delight—although our signature pappardelle pasta was slightly overcooked. Meanwhile, the wine list is serviceable if not overly succinct, focusing solely on Italian wines past 2010. An especially condensed list of wines by the glass leaves only a little over a dozen wines for diners to choose from, with plenty of room for improvement. The service is genial and attentive but hurried, and the staff could exhibit more knowledge of the food and wine menu. All in all, a beautiful location to impress visiting friends or a date, as long as you’re fine with an Italian house red.
