www.mandarinoriental.com/landmark Stowed away behind a showpiece telephone booth entrance, PDT (Please Don’t Tell) ensconces visitors in an atmospheric, low-ceilinged space that preserves the tongue-in-cheek humour of the original New York location. The drinks menu features regionally-sourced and inspired ingredients in an effort to “give [it] a sense of place,” while making space for classics such as the Benton Old Fashioned. The food, an interpretation of American fare, was satisfying and incredibly filling, although the prices may leave all but the banker crowd scratching their heads. Service was warm and efficient but leaves room for improvement in attentiveness.
