Telangana approves new food processing policy

The Telangana government has approved a new food processing policy under which rice mills, pulses, oilseeds, fruits, flowers, vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, milk, and dairy products food processing units would be set up. The policy also provides guidelines for various incentives that will be given to the entrepreneurs setting up food processing units in the state. Special incentives will be given to the exportoriented units. At present, there are four major food park projects worth Rs 492 crore, seven integrated cold chain projects worth Rs 208 crore, 20 National Mission on Food Processing (NMFP) projects worth Rs 108 crore in the state.
