New bar experiences and a guide to Krug and Cognac pairing

For those who haven’t been able to get their hands on these cult wines, Laurent Ponsot will headline his own event, Uncovering Laurent Ponsot: A Walkaround Fair on 9 Feb, 11am-4pm. The winemaker, often called a Burgundian iconoclast, abruptly left Domaine Ponsot in 2017 and set up his own négociant business. Priced at $48, the fair will offer the chance to taste through five whites and 11 reds, from Meursault Charmes to several Grand Crus like Echezeaux and Clos St. Denis. The pass-around ruby chocolate coated red velvet madeleine doesn’t just hark to the shoe label’s seasonal colour theme, but also pairs beautifully with the cuvee’s floral freshness and bright flavours of pear and almond. Matter of Taste returns in its sixth Singapore edition from 28 to 29 Feb, showcasing over 200 wines rated 90 Parker Points and above. Aside from the four masterclasses and two top-flight dinners, the event introduces its first MOT Pro, a networking platform for wine professionals.
