Ithink sharing food is important whether it’s a romantic meal or not, but when it is a date you want to be there for at least three hours – enjoying the wine and spending your time over the food together. Plus, you don’t want to leave the restaurant feeling bloated from eating too much. My favourite romantic restaurant is Azurmendi by Eneko Atxa. It’s situated right in the heart of the mountains in Basque Country with the most amazing views surrounded by lush greenery. What I love: the entire restaurant is made from glass, so that every table is beside a “window” for diners to enjoy the lush scenery. It’s also perfect for romantic occasions as the tables are strategically placed (far away from each other) so you can enjoy each other’s company away from prying eyes and ears. Azurmendi is also home to a herb garden and wine cellar. Anyone you take there is sure to be impressed. That’s a Nieves Barragán guarantee!
