PASSIONFLOWER
The relaxing effects of passionflower ( Passiflora incarnata) are also well known. A traditional herbal sedative, it’s a popular sleep aid used for the treatment of sleep disturbance. An infusion of herbs taken before bedtime has demonstrated improved sleep in controlled trials. Try it yourself. Make an infusion of dried herbs and drink up to three times daily. Tinctures can be taken too. Passionflower tea and small doses of tincture can be taken during the day to relieve nervous tension without causing drowsiness or loss of concentration. Larger doses can be taken at night to promote sleep. Passionflower is often combined with skullcap for a better night's sleep.
