The restaurant’s focus on fresh produce is heightened by the impressive floor-to-ceiling displays—as seen in the temperature-controlled seafood room, which is home to a wide selection of fresh seafood, seafood antipasti and marinated fish. A steaming bowl of the hearty seafood laksa broth, filled with your choice of noodles, vegetables and seafood treasures, is a must-have. But the highlight here is the charcoal grilled-to-order cuts of meat such as the tomahawk steak and seafood. The catch of the day—a choice of Mediterranean sea bass or golden pomfret, on our visit—features ultra-moist fish with incredible flavour and freshness. Out-of-town friends can get acquainted with authentic local dishes such as the Hainanese chicken rice, black pepper crab and Singaporean char kway teow. Leave space for dessert with the assortment of nonya kuehs and Western cakes and tarts—but if you only have room for one, the tiramisu offers a strong coffee kick.
