George defeats Union Stars
George Cricket Club defeated Union Stars in a nail-biting SWD premier league match this weekend.
George scored 156 (all out) in their 11 runs victory against Union Stars who managed 145 runs (all out) at Bridgton on Saturday. Hannes van Niekerk (48 with the bat) and Shane Smith (5/25 with the ball) were the heroes for George.
Harlequins had a very successful weekend and recorded back to back victories on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday Harlequins defeated Mossel Bay by 12 runs and on Sunday they recorded a narrow one-wicket victory against Knysna Cavaliers.
Ramblers were too strong for Pacaltsdorp United and won by 8 wickets. Andrew Calvert (55*) was the batting hero for the Rosemoore based team.
