Rain thwarts three day match

-

Heavy rainfall had the final say in the Cricket SA Provincial Three Day match between SWD and KwaZulu-Natal Inland that was played at the City Oval in Pietermaritzburg the past weekend. With no play possible on the first two days SWD, who started their innings on Saturday morning, declared their first innings at 256/8. Obus Pienaar (65) and Neil Hornbuckle (71) contributed with half-centuries. Other batsmen who did their part and scored 30 runs or more were: Yamkela Oliphant (49) and Brendon Louw (30).

With the rain limiting KZN Inlands to score only 66/2 the captains shook hands declaring the match a draw.
