Two sentenced for goat slaughter
Two men were found guilty on 3 September of stealing and slaughtering six angora goats in the Aberdeen district.
According to Capt Bradley Rawlinson, spokesperson of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS, Alfred Diempies Jiggels and Jacobus Cowee Kivido, both 35, were sentenced to one-year imprisonment.
They were accused of stealing the goats from a farm in the Aberdeen district 15
August.
They later slaughtered the goats.
"The hard work and dedication by GraaffReinet Stock Theft Unit detective, Warrant Officers Johan Gerber and Laurence Jantjies were rewarded by this conviction," said Rawlinson.
