Cook­hou­se sus­pect caug­ht with d­rugs worth o­ver R14 000

A 35-y­e­ar-old sus­pect was ar­res­ted on 10 Sep­tem­ber for pos­ses­si­on of d­rugs worth o­ver R14 000 in Cook­hou­se.

Ac­cor­ding to Cap­tain Brad­ley Ra­w­lin­son, spo­kes­per­son for the po­li­cing a­rea, mem­bers of Cook­hou­se Vi­si­ble Po­li­cing we­re pa­trol­ling in Ne­w­town lo­ca­ti­on short­ly be­fo­re mid­nig­ht, w­hen of­fi­ci­als se­ar­ched the sus­pect.

Po­li­ce found 246 w­ho­le Man­drax ta­blets and three bro­ken ta­blets. “The street va­lue of the d­rugs is es­ti­ma­ted to be R14 640,” said Ra­w­lin­son. An un­dis­clo­sed a­mount of cash was al­so con­fis­ca­ted.

“Li­eu­te­nant Co­lo­nel PD Fer­rei­ra com­mends the mem­bers on the con­fis­ca­ti­on of d­rugs and the ar­rest of the sus­pect,” Ra­w­lin­son ad­ded. Fer­rei­ra al­so sta­ted that pa­trols are ef­fecti­ve in the fig­ht a­gainst cri­me and d­rugs.
