Ahead of Stoep Tasting, Frank Gentry of Karoo Taxidermy donated 5 000 masks to the Graaff-Reinet Tourism Office on Friday. The masks were handed to Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Office, Jack van Niekerk.

The masks were made by Gentry’s staff, and were donated to give to staff of the tourism office, as well as to those attending the much-anticipated event.

“This is our town’s first big event of the year and we want to make it as safe as possible,” Gentry told the Graaff-Reinet Advertiser.

Rose Wright, organiser of the event, said the masks will remind those attending the event to remain mindful. “Stoep Tasting is no reason to break the rules. Safety is ultimate,” she said.
