Body still unidentifi­ed

Graaff-Reinet SAPS is still urgently trying to trace the next of kin of an unidentifi­ed man.

According to Capt Bradley Rawlinson, spokespers­on for the station, the body of an unknown man was found on 8 September shortly after 23:00, on the R53, around 2km from the Pearston turn-off from GraaffRein­et. The man was wearing a navy hooded top, long black pants, royal blue socks and a pair of black and brown Puma tekkies. The man is about 1.75m tall. Bradley confirmed this week that there were still no leads to discoverin­g who the man is.

A case of culpable homicide has been opened. The Graaff-Reinet SAPS appeals to anyone who can assist in identifyin­g the man, or anyone who might be looking for a relative who is missing, to contact Det W/O Gys van Gent on 082 442 2969, Graaff-Reinet Police on 049 807 1106 or the nearest police station.
