Two PE thie­ves ar­res­ted in GRT

Two al­le­ged Port Elizabeth thie­ves met their ma­tch in Graaff-Rei­net on Mon­day, w­he­re they we­re ar­res­ted with sto­len pro­per­ty worth R150 000.

Ac­cor­ding to Cap­tain Brad­ley Ra­w­lin­son, spo­kes­per­son of the Graaff-Rei­net SAPS, mem­bers of the O­pe­ra­ti­o­nal Com­mand Cen­t­re acted on in­for­ma­ti­on that the two sus­pects, a­ged 39 and 42, we­re in Graaf­fRei­net short­ly be­fo­re 20:00. The sus­pects we­re accu­sed of ste­a­ling vehi­cle tes­ting ma­chi­ne­ry from a bu­si­ness in PE.

“S­wift acti­on led to their ar­rest af­ter their vehi­cle was se­ar­ched,” said Ra­w­lin­son.

The Graaff Rei­net S­ta­ti­on Com­man­der, Co­lo­nel André A­rends, ap­plau­ded the mem­bers for their quick re­acti­on, the re­co­ve­ry of the sto­len pro­per­ty and the ar­rest of the two sus­pects.

The sus­pects we­re due to ap­pear in the Graaff Rei­net Ma­gi­stra­te’s Court on Wed­nes­day 16 Sep­tem­ber.
