Apology offered to CP Nel Museum

The CP Nel Board of Trustees lodged a complaint with the Press Council regarding the article, Minister kyk na uitsettingsbevel, which appeared in Oudtshoorn Courant on 11 February 2021.

Deputy Press Ombud Tyrone August upheld three of the complaints and dismissed a fourth. Oudtshoorn Courant hereby apologises for not seeking the Board’s comments before the article was published, for providing inaccurate information on whether or not the Minister knew about the dispute between the museum and its tenants, and for incorrectly reporting that the Board obtained an eviction order against its tenants.
