FROM THE EDITOR...

The tri season may be taking a brief hiatus at the moment, but all too soon (hopefully!), we’ll be back out there racing – and the search for marginal gains will be back on. In this special supplement, we were fortunate enough to be invited behind the scenes with leading tri brand Huub Design as they prepare their athletes for a new season of racing. There’s no doubt that Huub are pushing the boundaries, but in the race for the top spot every single percentage makes a difference. Considering the needs of the individual athlete in the wind tunnel is crucial (as Henri Schoeman shows us on p4) but when you’re coming down to a level of design where you’re considering how graphics should be printed best onto a tri-suit to reduce drag, you know the devil really is in the detail. Luckily for us, what the pros get first then trickles down to us age-groupers, so although you may read this guide and think the aero benefits are light years away for your race, in reality they will be far closer than you imagine. Here’s to us all racing again soon – and being a little faster when we do…
