10 Review your progress

This is the home stretch and the most exciting part of the painting. Once the masking fluid was removed and I could see the previously protected areas, I could make a decision on which areas may need to be either left alone or over-painted (such as the blanket).

This was also the time to start adding finer detail, including deepening the tones on the nose and the eyes, which all helps to bring things together.
