VISIT A EURO EXPO

Love classic cars but find the British events a bit samey? Try Rétromobile in Paris in February or Techno Classica Germany just before Easter. The French event always serves up fascinating special exhibitions and the odd quirky item, while its German counterpart is simply huge with more than 2500 vehicles on display. Both are strongly supported by many manufacturers’ classic divisions and you are guaranteed to leave both having viewed cars you have never seen before. Travel to both is very doable: Rétromobile is on the Périphérique, while Essen, Germany, is three-and-ahalf hours’ drive from Calais.
