A four-door makes sense for this first toe in the water with a serious, mass-market EV, but if BMW can give this car the 4 Series Gran Coupé shell, it can also give it the coupé shell, and that would result in a truly desirable electric GT.

BMW because, without naming names, certain makers have shown that adapting an ICE platform for an EV application yields all sorts of compromises, but the i4 feels much more bespoke and complete than those cars.
