Is this what we’re reduced to now? The BMW ix’s lead designer admits there’s little difference between the basic and M models in either looks or performance (News, 5 January). So what does your extra money get you these days? Some vague suspension changes, a new colour scheme for the digital dashboard and a different MP3 file for the fake engine note.
