Chevrolet SSR 2003

The fashion for retro-styled vehicles around the turn of the century gave rise to a number of successes, such as the Mini, and several failures. One of the stranger examples was the Chevrolet SSR, a pick-up truck with a retractable hardtop and a 5.3-litre (later 6.0-litre) V8. Its unusual styling combined modernity with a tribute to the Chevrolet Advance Design and GMC New Design trucks of the late 1940s. Chevrolet produced 24,150 SSRS from 2003 to 2006.
