BIGGER YET STILL LOOKING FAMILIAR

-

Now built on a shortened version of the Yaris’s GA-B platform, Toyota’s city car has grown 235mm longer, 125mm wider and 50mm taller. Its front overhang is 72mm shorter than the Yaris’s, while its wedged roofline helps create a sleek side profile, despite its 1510mm height.

The Aygo X actually doesn’t stray too far from the old Aygo’s design formula, despite the SUV makeover, as you can see in the familiar-shaped rear lights and the single-piece glass in the bootlid, while the option of a retractable canvas sunroof is again available.

The bigger, 18in wheels help it achieve a 40% tyre-to-body ratio, which is claimed to give it more of the desired rugged-suv look.
