Guilty as charged

-

I love my Peugeot e-2008, which I drive here in France, but I have to admit that I only ever charge it at home and don’t make long trips in it, instead taking a diesel car.

I recently was allowed to make a long trip in the UK in my son-in-law’s Jaguar I-pace. A charge was going to be needed, and this experience involved all the usual whinges: some chargers were already occupied, some wouldn’t accept a credit card, some were Tesla-only and, of course in the dark and pouring rain, those that I eventually found tucked away in the back of the M6 Killington Lake Services had no shelter or lighting, just like all the others that I tried.

EV drivers are clearly second-class citizens and, as far as I know, the situation is no better in France. Anthony Lunt
