TECHNICAL LAYOUT

The NX sits on a version of Toyota’s TNGA-K platform, which underpins the RAV4 and Camry, too, as well as Lexus’s ES saloon. The NX 350h’s powertrain is also recognisable from Toyota models and uses a hybrid unit to drive the front axle while the rear is powered by an electric motor, and has no mechanical linkage to the front. Our test car came in 72kg over the claimed weight, with a 58:42 front-to-rear split.
