Lesson in etiquette

I’ve just recovered from a weekend visit by old friends who arrived in their 2021 BMW 330e Touring xdrive M Sport after an 80-mile trip. On the Saturday night, the car’s plug was handed to me in order to plug it into my house. Caught off guard and spluttering at the situation of having to pay for their journey as well as feed and entertain them, I’m moved to ask what the etiquette is on charging at someone else’s expense.

The 330e Touring can do only 37 miles on electricity!

They could have purchased a portable petrol generator and brought it along… Charles Leith
