Metro was a masterpiece
I choked a bit on my muesli when I saw the MG Metro 6R4 described as “not much cop” (On This Day, 2 March). Rather a twerpish bit of copy, written out of ignorance. Whoever is responsible ought to passenger in a 6R4 up Shelsley Walsh or similar. If it doesn’t change his mind, it might change his trousers… Ian Elliott

This particular ignorant twerp was making the point that the 6R4 never won in the WRC so can’t be put in the same league as the Audi Quattro and Peugeot 205 T16, but yes, it achieved a good amount at national level – KC
