EX-PORSCHE AND FERRARI EXEC TAKES MCLAREN HELM
Mclaren has named ex-ferrari tech boss Michael Leiters as its CEO, replacing Mike Flewitt, who left in October 2021.
Arriving at Woking on 1 July, Leiters joins as Mclaren launches its first series-production hybrid, the Artura, and gears up to unleash its first electric car in the coming years.
Leiters was a vocal proponent of minimising kerb weight at Ferrari, especially when it came to integrating heavy EV tech into hybrids, but before that was Porsche’s SUV boss, responsible for the Cayenne. Notably, Mclaren is one of the few supercar makers that has no SUV plans.
