Adrian Hallmark quits Bentley to become Aston Martin boss

-

BENTLEY BOSS ADRIAN Hallmark will take over as Aston Martin CEO in the coming months.

He will be Aston’s third CEO in four years, following Tobias Moers and current boss Amedeo Felisa, who will step down as he approaches his 78th birthday.

Hallmark has left Bentley with immediate effect and will start his new role by October. He will take the reins at the start of a transformative era for Aston Martin in which it will electrify its line-up with the addition of new plug-in hybrids and its maiden EV in the next two years.

The role he played in scaling up Bentley’s personalisation service, Mulliner, will be especially relevant. Mulliner has driven huge profit increases at Bentley in recent years – much as Aston’s own Q bespoke division has achieved of late, helping to push the average sale price of an Aston Martin to a record £213,000 in 2023.

An industry veteran, Hallmark previously served as Bentley’s sales and marketing boss from 1999 until 2005 – when he was key to the brand’s revival under the ownership of the Volkswagen Group. He played a vital role in the success of the transformative Continental GT.

Since returning to Bentley, Hallmark has been pivotal in helping to drive it to record sales and successes, along with pushing forward the ‘Beyond 100’ transformation plan to prepare the firm for an electric future. During his 25year automotive career, he has also worked for Porsche, VW and Jaguar Land Rover.

In a statement, Hallmark said Bentley “has had a great influence” on him, adding: “To redefine luxury mobility for the future with such a strong brand is a task that I took on with full commitment and great pleasure.”

Bentley said it will announce Hallmark’s successor “in due course”.
