Chord Mojo £399 & Chord Poly £499

-

The Chord Mojo’s design may be a little strange, and it’s certainly got its quirks, but it’s still my favourite digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) thanks to its portability, versatility and wonderfully real musicality. With Dsd 256 compatibility – allowing it to access Direct Stream Digital technology – and the ability to handle high-resolution files up to 768khz, the Mojo is also future proof (for now) and its amplifier will drive most headphones. Whether you use it as a desktop or portable DAC, you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks to the new Chord Poly streaming device, you can upgrade the Mojo and turn it into a fully-fledged highresolution wireless (Wi-fi and Bluetooth) network music player, streamer and Micro SD card playback device. The Chord Poly clips seamlessly into the Mojo and once it’s connected you can enjoy playback by wirelessly linking it to your smartphone. The paired Mojo and Poly may seem an expensive option, but given their combined functionality and sound quality, it’s a bit of a bargain. chordmojo.com
