Raimund Herincx ( born 1927 ) enjoyed a major career on opera stages on both sides of the Atlantic, playing leading parts at both the Royal Opera House and the New York Met. A Wagnerian of great presence, the British bass-baritone also premiered roles such as that of Faber in Tippett’s The Knot Garden in 1970.

The Polish violinist Anna Karkowska ( born 1981) sprang to fame with a series of Youtube videos recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road in 2010. She performed regularly in a violin duo with her sister Kasha, and they released two albums together.
