An acquired taste – you’ll get sideways glances from strangers while wearing them – but Apple’s ultralight headphones are wonderfully simple to use, connect seamlessly and the fit seems to defy the laws of gravity. If you take one out your ear music pauses, phone calls are crystal clear and Siri voice control works well.

And, amazingly for Apple, they’re good value compared to a lot of the competition. Sadly, sound quality seems to have been largely ignored in favour of the hi-tech bells and whistles, and while they’re not terrible, I expect better for £159. apple.com
