Winter Walk

Writer Horatio Clare joins us on Christmas Eve for the centrepiec­e of our series exploring forests, in an immersive Slow Radio walk through Germany inspired by the concept of ‘the wanderer’. The walk will be accompanie­d by moments from Schubert’s great song cycle Winterreis­e and poems by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. 24 December, 2pm

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Now in its 100th year, the 2018 service will be music director Stephen Cleobury’s 36th and final with the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge. As ever, it will be broadcast live on Radio 4 on Christmas Eve and replayed on Radio 3 on Christmas Day itself.
