As DUNU releases it new flagship DK-4001 earphones, its chief designer Andy Zhao tells us what makes them so special

DUNU, the high-end earphone brand from China, has been renowned in the hybrid field for a long time.

Now it has launched a flagship hybrid earphone, the DK-4001. Its chief designer Andy tells us more:

‘The DK-4001 was first introduced to the Chinese market in the autumn of 2015 and since then we’ve continued to ‘arm’ this flagship earphone with up-to-date technology and materials. Now, the DK-4001 relaunches as a 5-driver hybrid, with one dynamic driver and four balanced armature drivers.’

Explaining why the sound is so pure, Andy says, ‘The bass range is handled by a 13mm beryllium diaphragm dynamic driver – something that has been newly developed by DUNU. It features double-sided beryllium plating technology to deliver accurate low-frequency reduction and rich mid-frequency details. Four Knowles high/extreme frequency balanced armature drivers ensure an extended frequency range without distortion.’

The earphones, which went on sale in China last September, are fast becoming one of DUNU’S best sellers. This flagship product is expected to launch in the UK soon.
