Robin Holloway (b1943)
A prolific composer and writer, Robin Holloway was a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral and went on to study at King’s College, Cambridge. He returned to Cambridge in the 1970s, when he began a 32-year role as a professor of composition. Notable students who studied with him include Thomas Adès, Judith Weir, Jonathan Dove and Huw Watkins. Robin’s works have been performed in concert halls the world over, including at the BBC Proms. His multifaceted style has been applied to several concertos, a symphony, choral and instrumental works and two operas.
