Welcome
Spring is definitely in the air and, in line with the burgeoning season, this issue finds both colourful new growth and plenty of hardy perennials. There’s the highly anticipated first volume of Mozart sonatas from pianist Peter Donohoe, which doesn’t disappoint
(see our Recording of the Month), and a memorable disc including premiere recordings of new protest piano music.
We continue last month’s Berlioz celebration with a full page on bountiful box sets of the composer’s music and then, popcorn in hand, we take a look at the best of recent releases of music for the screen. Plus, there’s Florence Price symphonies, Hugo Wolf lieder, a Puccini classic on DVD and a new recording of Beethoven’s Ninth conducted by Seiji Ozawa. Enjoy!
