BACKGROUND TO… Edmund Finnis (b1984)

Finnis has establishe­d himself as one of the UK’S most versatile composers. Born in Oxford, he studied with Julian Anderson at the Guildhall and has enjoyed creative collaborat­ions with the Britten Sinfonia, London Sinfoniett­a and London Contempora­ry Orchestra (for which he was composer-in-associatio­n). His works, from solo to orchestral via chamber and immersive electronic­s, have been performed all over and premiered by some of today’s top flight musicians – including Víkingur Ólafsson, ORA Singers, Benjamin Beilman, Mark Simpson and Clare Hammond.
