Changing course

The Royal Opera House is launching two new courses specifically for women conductors. A two-day course focussing on ballet is to take place on 18-19 May, while in July, acclaimed conductor Jessica Cottis will lead a week-long opera course. ‘We hope we will encourage and nurture female talent,’ says the ROH’S music director Antonio Pappano, ‘as well as secure long-term change for the industry as a whole.’
