From Adès to Zacharias, experience the versatility and vitality of the world’s most recorded chamber orchestra in this captivating London series
Beginning with Bach, join the ECO in a dance through time, as Baroque and Classical favourites combine with 20th/21st century reflections by Pärt, Adès, Strauss and Ravel. Christian Zacharias returns to conduct Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto from the piano and Mozart’s Oboe Concerto is performed and directed by the charismatic François Leleux. Christmas preparations begin on 1 December with the annual Messiah. Other guests include virtuoso Canadian trumpeter Paul Merkelo and the UK concerto debut of 13-year-old British violinist Leia Zhu. Performances take place at Cadogan Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Croydon’s newlyrefurbished Fairfield Halls.
