Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the Iceland Symphony will undertake two concert tours this season, plus weekly concerts at Reykjavík’s Harpa Concert Hall
In 2019-2020, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra welcomes a host of outstanding artists to Reykjavík’s Harpa Concert
Hall, with programming ranging from
Bach to Wagner to a new work, AIO N, by composer-in-residence Anna Thorvaldsdottir. In March 2020 the ISO celebrates its 70th anniversary with a gala concert led by chief conductor designate Eva Ollikainen. Other 2019-2020 guest artists include conductors Osmo Vänskä, Hannu Lintu, and Han-na Chang; violinists Augustin Hadelich and Vadim Gluzman; and pianist Stephen Hough. The ISO will undertake two tours this season, giving 13 concerts in Germany, Austria, and the UK.
