Wind power on the rise as AAM goes green
As it approaches its 50th anniversary in two years’ time, the Academy of Ancient Music has set itself a major target – to become carbon neutral. Every single aspect of the AAM’S activities will be analysed to help greenify the period instrument ensemble which, as orchestra-in-residence at
Cambridge University, also intends to make use of its contacts with leading academics. Though still very much in the experimental stage, a revolutionary new device for converting wind players’ exhalations into drinking water is understood to form part of the plans. Or possibly not…
